Student Advisory Committee (SAC)
Committee Purpose
The function of SAC is to:
- Promote student awareness of CDS.
- Assist CDS in the development of resources and communications.
- Streamline the transition from student to dentist member.
- Develop professionalism and organizational skills among students.
- Encourage scientific and educational advancement by participating in various Society programs, including the MWM and Student Scientific Research Poster Program.
Structure and Composition
The Student Advisory Committee (SAC) comprises students from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry and Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine, Illinois.

- Membership in SAC is complimentary to all members of the two (2) dental schools residing within the boundaries of the CDS.
- The committee will have one (1) representative per class, elected by student members from each year, respectively.
- Two additional representatives from the Advanced Placement Program, one AS1 student and one AS2 student, will attend from UIC.
- SAC representatives assist the MWM Scientific Programs Management Committee (SPMC). Each member must recruit one additional peer, for a total of ten students for these duties each day.
- Three annual business meetings are suggested.
- One Board Liaison serves on the committee.
