Course Description: This presentation will cover trends in dental associate arrangements, the importance of having written associate contracts, enforceability of restrictive covenants and current dental market conditions including the “new normal” in practice valuation and a frank discussion regarding DSOs’ impact on private practices. Ignoring these critical components of a practice can be a costly mistake to the operations and ultimately the value of a dental practice.

Speaker Bio: Peter Ackerman is a 1995 graduate of Miami of Ohio with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting & General Business. He began his career in private accounting at Lane Industries, Northbrook, a holding company over several subsidiaries. In 1996, Mr. Ackerman founded ADS Midwest, a firm that provides practice brokerage, appraisal and consulting services to dentists and the related specialists throughout the Midwest. Under his leadership ADS Midwest has become the largest and most respected practice transition firm in the Midwest. In 2010, he secured the endorsement of the ISDS for practice appraisal and transition services. He is a current member and past president of ADS Transitions, he holds designations as a Certified Valuation Analysts, Certified Public Accountant, Certified Exit Planning Advisor, licensed real estate broker and a licensed business broker.
