Course Description: Dental implants have become a standard of care option to restore and reconstruct missing and ailing dentition. As more dental implants are being placed, an increase in managing their long term complications have been noted. This course will provide a comprehensive overview of the prevention and management of Peri-implant Diseases. The course will cover the key factors that influence Peri-implant Diseases, Diagnosis, Classification and evidence based approaches on non-surgical and surgical interventions. Attendees will learn protocols that are preventative and therapeutic strategies that can be used in their clinical practice.
Speaker Bio: Christine Gadia, DDS, MS, is a Periodontist in the Chicagoland area. She is board certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. Dr. Gadia graduated Cum Laude from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she received her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. She completed her general dentistry training at the University of Illinois College of Dentistry in 2002 and went on to receive her Master of Oral Sciences degree with an emphasis in dental biomaterials. Dr. Gadia continued her training by completing a Periodontics and Dental Implant Surgery residency program at UCLA in 2005. Dr. Gadia has served as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago, in the Department of Periodontics.
Dr. Gadia is the founder of two Periodontal and Dental Implant practices in Chicago, IL, Millennium Periodontics and Millennium Periodontics of Wicker Park, where she practices full time. Dr. Gadia also continues to be involved in dental education. She has been involved in Spear Education as a study club leader for the past 10 years and is also an ITI Study Club Director and an opinion leader for an implant company. She has given lectures and presentations focused on soft tissue regeneration, biologics, and dental implants. Dr. Gadia is a member of the American Board of Periodontology, American Academy of Periodontology, Academy of Osseointegration and the ITI.
