2027-2030 ISDS Trustees

The Chicago Dental Society is seeking qualified members to apply for the open call for 2027-2030 ISDS Trustees.

2027-2030 ISDS Trustees – Two open positions

ISDS Bylaws:

Chapter V; Section 4

  • Each district entitled that year to elect members of the Board of Trustees shall conduct said election prior to the business meeting of the House. The district shall elect a member or members of the Board of Trustees to serve a term of three (3) years each.
  • There shall be rules governing the ISDS Chicago District Caucus. The purpose of the Caucus is to hear the various candidates for the elected position of the Illinois State Dental Society.

CDS Bylaws:

  • The Credentialing Committee will recommend one or more qualified candidate(s) for the Society’s ISDS Trustees (the “Society ISDS Trustee”) and present such qualified candidates to the Board of Directors. The Credentialing Committee will solicit interested candidates from the Voting Members of the Society and will review all applications received. The Credentialing Committee must submit the qualified slate of candidates to the Voting Members of the Society on the schedule determined by the Board of Directors for vote and election. In the event the Credentialing Committee receives more than one qualified candidate to run for the elected office, the Society will hold a contested election in accordance with such rules and procedures as may be adopted by the Board of Directors.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Current CDS tripartite active, retired and/or life member dentist.
  • Member in good standing with dues paid and abide by the Bylaws and all policies, rules, and regulations of the Society
  • Five (5) year’s total CDS membership (including student membership)
  • 2 years dental leadership experience
  • Demonstrated interest in the ISDS, with participation in at least 1 of the following: Delegate in ISDS House; member of an ISDS Standing Committee; or a member of the DENT-IL-PAC Board.

Nominating Process:

  • Open call for self-nomination
  • LDGs may submit candidate(s)
  • Credentialing Committee to review candidates and recommend candidates to Board of Directors who will review and present all qualified candidates to the Voting Members of the Chicago District Caucus.

Electors:

  • Voting members of the Chicago District caucus at the ISDS House of Delegates. Per current Chicago District Caucus rules, voting members are defined as the current year Delegates and Alternate Delegates to the ISDS House of Delegates from the Chicago District.
  • Vetted qualified candidates will run for the election at the Chicago District Caucus held at the ISDS Annual Session.

Deadline for Election/Nomination/Appointment:

Nomination: May 31, 2026.

Election:

Chicago District Caucus held 1 year prior to installation of elected Trustees at the business meeting of the House of Delegates at the ISDS Annual Session. This allows appropriate onboarding and orientation for
elected Trustees.
