Andrea Reale Reyes, DDS, MS, will present Unlocking the Potential of Dental Ceramics: Properties, Cementation, and Clinical Success. Cocktails begin at 6:30 p.m. followed by dinner and the program at 7 p.m.
Speaker Bio:
Dr. Andrea Reale Reyes earned her DDS in 2012 from Santa Maria University in Caracas and an MS in Restorative Dentistry from the University of Michigan. She is a clinician and educator at the University of Illinois at Chicago, with experience in research on dental ceramics and a focus on CAD/CAM technology.
Course Description:
Dental ceramics are widely used in restorative dentistry, but their success depends on understanding material properties and applying the correct clinical protocols. This lecture will guide dentists in selecting the appropriate ceramic for each case, recognizing material-specific limitations, and mastering cementation techniques—from surface preparation to cement selection—for optimal long-term outcomes.
Learning Objectives:
1. Identify the different types of ceramics, their characteristics, and their different properties that will affect their clinical performances.
2. Understand the indications and limitations of different ceramic materials in restorative dentistry, including their composition, durability, and esthetic considerations.
3. Learn and demonstrate the proper techniques for cementing dental ceramics based on their specific properties, including: Surface preparation, Cement selection, Bonding protocols, Clinical tips and tricks.
