Northwest Side Branch: March Meeting

Join the Northwest Branch for “Beyond Alignment: A Personalized Guide to Smile Design” presented by Kim Smith, DDS.

RSVP deadline: February 23rd.

Course description: Creating exceptional outcomes often requires looking beyond the teeth alone. This course examines how personalized treatment planning, advances in orthodontic technology, and interdisciplinary collaboration can help dental professionals deliver more predictable, aesthetic, and patient-centered care. Dentists of all specialties will leave with a broader understanding of how individualized approaches can support long-term oral health, function, and smile design.

Speaker Bio: Dr. Kimberly Mays Smith, a native of Little Rock, Arkansas, is a dedicated orthodontist with nearly two decades of experience in dental and orthodontic care. She earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from The Baltimore College of Dental Surgery in 1998, where she was inducted into the prestigious Gorgas Odontological Honorary Society. She went on to complete her specialty training in Orthodontics and Maxillofacial Orthopedics at Howard University.

In 2020, Dr. Smith founded Smile Suite Orthodontics, a boutique practice in Evanston, Illinois, where she blends artistry, science, and innovation to deliver elevated orthodontic care. Through her use of the Pitts21 system and progressive treatment philosophies, she creates efficient, comfortable, and highly esthetic smile transformations. Her patient-centered approach focuses not only on achieving exceptional clinical outcomes, but also on building authentic, lasting relationships within her community. Dr. Smith’s commitment to excellence has earned her recognition as a Top Doctor, featured in Top Docs and Women in Medicine magazine in 2022. That same year, Smile Suite Orthodontics was a featured winner in Benco’s Incisal Edge Design Competition for its aesthetic elegance and patient-centered design.

Outside of her practice, Dr. Smith enjoys spending quality time with her daughter, Kennedy, and stays active through skiing, water sports, and travel. She is deeply committed to community engagement, participating in organizations focused on service and improvement, and remains actively involved in professional study groups to continuously advance her clinical expertise.

Driven by compassion and a commitment to excellence, Dr. Smith approaches orthodontics as both a science and an art—dedicated to helping patients achieve not only beautiful smiles but also greater confidence and well-being.
