The 144th Chicago Dental Society Midwinter Meeting
February 26 - March 1

The Midwinter Meeting annually offers one of the largest dental exhibitions in the United States. In 2009, more than 600 manufacturers, dealers, suppliers and labs participated (view exhibitors). Many exhibitors used the Midwinter Meeting as the setting for new product introductions and offered special incentives during the Midwinter Meeting.

The Chicago Dental Society thanks all the attendees, speakers, exhibitors and volunteers for all their efforts in making the 2009 Midwinter Meeting another great success. We invite you to return to Chicago in 2010, when the Midwinter Meeting moves to the new McCormick Place West Building for a 3-day event. The commercial exhibition and scientific program will be held Thursday-Saturday, Feb. 25-27, 2010.

Download your MWM CE certificate

Attendees of the 2009 Midwinter Meeting may download their CE certificates free of charge through the end of April. Beginning May 1, there will be a $25 fee to download your certificate. Attendees may still download CE certificates for courses taken during the 2005-2008 Midwinter Meetings. There is a $25 charge per CE certificate.

Honorees

Gordon J. Christensen Recognition Lecturer Award recipient

Barry K. Freydberg, who practices in Skokie, IL, is the 2009 recipient of the Gordon J. Christensen Recognition Lecturer Award. Established in 1990, the award acknowledges Dr. Christensen’s many outstanding contributions to the dental profession and the Midwinter Meeting. Dr. Freydberg, who served as Program Chair for the 2002 Midwinter Meeting, will receive the Christensen Award during the Opening Session on Thursday, Feb. 26, for his many contributions to the profession.

Cushing Award recipient

Dr. Steven Perlman, Global Clinical Advisor for Special Smiles, is the 2009 Cushing Award recipient. The award honors those who raise public awareness about oral health issues. Dr. Perlman, associate clinical professor of pediatric dentistry at the Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine, is a committed advocate of health care for people with intellectual disabilities. The Special Smiles program, which he founded in 1993, has grown under his direction to include more events each year in nearly every state in the U.S. and in 40 countries worldwide.
