Welcome back to the New Dentist Quarterly, an e-newsletter from the Chicago Dental Society with topics of high interest to early career dentists.
CDS establishes new DEI committee
Taking a fresh look at its committee structure, the Chicago Dental Society has taken the step of creating a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion standing committee.

Work will begin soon to create a process for an open call for volunteers for the committee. Watch your emails for details in the coming months.

CDS is among dental organizations responding to the changing landscape among dentists and the dental workforce. Women now outnumber men in the the field, and dentists belonging to racial and ethnic backgrounds that have been underrepresented in the past are growing.

Dr. Lori Lightfoot, Branch Director of the Kenwood/Hyde Park Branch, has been selected to be the board liaison for the committee. CDS will keep you updated as the committee moves forward.
