Featuring Dr. Scott Swank, curator of the National Dental Museum in Baltimore

We invite you to attend the Keynote Session & Recognition Awards presentation.

Swank-ScottThis year Midwinter Meeting participants can rev up their enthusiasm for the dental profession at the morning Keynote Session and Recognition Award on Friday. Take a fascinating tour through the history of dentistry with our special Keynote Session guest, Scott D. Swank, DDS, who has been curator of the Dr. Samuel D. Harris National Museum of Dentistry in Baltimore, MD since 2002. The museum opened in 1997 and holds artifacts concerning the dental profession through the ages, including President George Washington's dentures (not wood but made of hippo ivory). Dr. Swank will bring his passion for how dentistry has evolved seminal moments in dental history and dental history trivia.

The Keynote Session will be held 8 to 9 a.m. Friday before lectures begin and be preceded by a reception from 7:30 to 7:55 a.m. offering continental breakfast fare. Prior to Dr. Swank’s talk the Gordon J. Christensen Lecturer Recognition Award and the CDS Foundation Vision Award will be presented.
