March 2019 Board Actions

On March 28, 2019, the CDS Board of Directors approved the following actions:

That the CDS Ethics and Special Issues Committee investigate getting new dentist involvement, decide to what degree that involvement is, and how to fully implement it.

That the incoming Board Directors and Treasurer-elect receive a hard copy of the Standard Operating Procedures Manual to be distributed at the New Board Orientation that takes place during the Annual Board Retreat.

To direct the Policy Manual Committee to develop a formal Power Point Presentation highlighting opportunities for involvement of membership through the three leadership development groups (Coalition Groups). The Power Point may also include how members may be appointed to ADA Councils, elected to be 8th District Trustee etc., as determined by the policy manual committee. The Power Point will be made available to the Branch Directors to present each year to at least one Branch meeting during the Spring.

To authorize attendance and cover expenses for Dr. McCullom to attend the 2019 National Dental Association Meeting on Friday and Saturday (no exhibit) with Thursday and Sunday as potential travel days, and with report back to the Board on the viability of having a booth in the future.

To increase booth fees by $100 beginning with the 2020 Midwinter Meeting.

For staff to prepare a report showing financial impact and average costs involved for Hawthorne Strategy Group to visit each branch with report back at the next Board meeting.

To appoint Dr. Gerald Ciebien as Chair of the Government Affairs and Access Advocacy Committee and Dr. Henry Lotsof as committee Vice Chair for the remainder of 2019.
