DESCRIPTION:Join the Northwest Suburban Branch at the Metropolis Ballroom in Arlington Heights on October 13\, 2026 for the lecture “When Roots Go Rogue: Odontogenic Sinusitis for the Dental Practitioner” presented by Sammy Khalili\, MD\, MSc\, FRCSC\, Chief of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery for the advanced neurosciences center at Endeavor Arlington Heights. \nWe’ll also be celebrating New Member/New Dentist Night! On this night\, we have our new members\, visiting members and early career dentists stand up to do a brief introduction for recognition and to make sure our members can properly welcome them.  \nCourse Description: This course is designed to discuss the clinical and radiographic features of odontogenic sinusitis\, as well as other forms of chronic rhinosinusitis. We will also discuss the multi-disciplinary treatment algorithm that involves both ENTs as well as dental surgeons and oromaxillofacial surgeons to jointly manage these cases. The course is designed to be interactive with lots of opportunities for questions and discussion. \nSpeaker Bio: Dr. Sam Khalili\, MD is a both American and Canadian board-certified otolaryngologist\, where he serves as Chief of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery for Intent Medical Group in Arlington Heights. He specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of disorders of the nose and sinuses\, including advanced rhinology\, endoscopic sinus surgery\, and minimally invasive skull base surgery. He earned his medical degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland\, completed his Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery residency at the University of Western Ontario\, and pursued fellowship training in Rhinology and Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. \nDr. Khalili is committed to delivering compassionate\, patient-centered care by partnering with patients throughout their treatment journey. He believes that informed patients achieve the best outcomes and emphasizes shared decision-making\, individualized treatment plans\, and the use of the latest evidence-based surgical techniques to improve both quality of life and long-term health. \nLearning Objectives:\n1. Recognize the distinct clinical and radiographic features that differentiate odontogenic sinusitis from other forms of chronic rhinosinusitis\n2. Identify the dental and surgical risk factors\n3. Intrepret the appropriate imaging\n4. Describe a multidisciplinary treatment algorithm integrating dental/endodontic source control with endoscopic sinus surgery\, and understand when medical management alone is insufficient\n5.
