DESCRIPTION:Join the Northwest Suburban Branch at the Metropolis Ballroom in Arlington Heights on March 9\, 2027 for the lecture “What the volume tells you: CBCT interpretation in clinical practice” presented by Mitra Sadrameli\, DMD\, MS. \nCourse Description: This presentation addresses a systematic approach to reviewing cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans\, providing a framework for image interpretation. Attendees will gain a structured method for evaluating CBCT volumes\, applied to clinical scenarios involving dental implant planning and pathology assessment. The session is designed for clinicians seeking a foundational\, repeatable approach to CBCT review rather than a comprehensive diagnostic reference. \nSpeaker Bio: Dr. Mitra Sadrameli received her DMD in 1992 from the University of Florida. Following graduation\, she completed the AEGD program at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in New York City and maintained a private practice in general dentistry until returning to graduate school in 2009\, where she earned her certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology and Master of Science at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio Author of numerous articles and book chapters\, she has presented nationally and internationally on three-dimensional imaging and its influence on patient care\, including the diagnosis of pathology and surgical planning for dental implant site development. \nDr. Sadrameli currently serves on the review boards of multiple peer-reviewed journals. She maintains a private practice in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology in Chicago\, IL\, and is a full time Clinical Associate Professor at Marquette School of Dentistry. She has served on numerous dental committees\, including the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology (AAOMR) Ad Hoc Committee for Malpractice Insurance\, the AAOMR Strategic Planning Committee\, and as Co-Chair of the AAOMR Radiology Practice Committee. She has also represented the AAOMR on the ADA Commission for Continuing Education Provider Recognition (CCEPR) and the ADA Council on Dental Benefit Programs’ Coding and Transaction Committee. Dr. Sadrameli is the incoming President of the AAOMR\, taking office in October 2026. \nLearning Objectives:\n1. Apply a systematic\, reproducible approach to reviewing CBCT volumes across all three imaging planes.\n2. Identify normal and variations of normal anatomic landmarks.\n3. Recognize radiographic features associated with common pathologic findings on CBCT scans.\n4.
