SUMMARY:North Suburban Branch | Cracked Teeth: Management\, Restoration\, and Treatment Approaches to Maximize Success in Dental Practice
DESCRIPTION:Join the North Suburban Branch at the Exmoor Country Club in Highland Park on March 9\, 2027 for “Cracked Teeth: Management\, Restoration\, and Treatment Approaches to Maximize Success in Dental Practice” presented by Matthew C. Davis D.D.S. \nRSVP deadline is March 4th.  \n \nCourse Description: Cracked teeth prevalence is on the rise and most of our adult patients have at least one cracked posterior tooth. Proper management of cracked and fractured teeth is nuanced\, and much confusion abounds in the literature on how to approach these cases. Which cracked teeth can be monitored and which ones require intervention? What is the prognosis of endodontically crowned cracked teeth? Is there any hope for teeth with vertical root fractures? Is extraction and implant a better option than treating cracked teeth? This presentation will bring some evidence-based clarity to these questions and present ways that may significantly increase our successes in treating and saving more compromised teeth. \nSpeaker Bio: Dr. Matthew Davis is a board-certified endodontist in private practice in Winnetka\, Illinois. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1999 and completed his specialty training in endodontics there in 2001. He has been in full-time private practice for twenty-five years and became a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics in 2010. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and has served on the Scientific Advisory Board of the Journal of Endodontics for over fifteen years. \nLearning Objectives:\n1. Describe specific ways we can increase our success in properly managing cracked and fractured teeth\n2. Understand the expected outcomes of treating cracked teeth from a restorative and endodontic perspective\n3. Understand why saving compromised teeth\, such as cracked teeth\, is a significantly better option than extraction\nCE Hours: 2
