John Gerding, DDS, a general dentist who has practiced in Naperville since 1981, was sworn in as vice president of the Chicago Dental Society at a ceremony held on Sunday, November 9, at the Chicago Hilton.
The society, which was established in 1864, has more than 4,100 members in Cook, Lake and DuPage Counties, making it the largest local society of the American Dental Association.
Dr. Gerding received both his undergraduate and dental degrees from Loyola University of Chicago.
He has served as a captain in the U.S. Army Dental Corps and in numerous volunteer positions with the Chicago Dental Society since entering private practice. He has also spent over 25 years volunteering for the Boy Scouts of America, culminating in the prestigious District Award of Merit in 2000.
He resides in Lisle with his wife Shirley and family.
A tradition of working for the dental profession. The Chicago Dental Society was organized in 1864 and incorporated in 1878. The objective of the Chicago Dental Society is to encourage the improvement of the health of the public, to promote the art and science of dentistry and to represent the intrest of the members of the profession and the public that it serves.
