Midwinter Meeting

President’s Welcome

The 144th Chicago Dental Society Midwinter Meeting will be your doorway to the World of Dental Networking.

A successful practice and quality care for our patients come about from teamwork and networking. The doctor networks with team members, from dental hygienist to laboratory technician, to develop a treatment plan for each patient with one goal—the oral health of the patient.

Networking is also beneficial outside the practice as the exchange of ideas and information inevitably leads to the improvement of the art and science of dentistry.

For the 144th year, the Chicago Dental Society will again offer you and your office team members the perfect venue to network in the classroom and outside it to maintain and improve the skills necessary for all team members to provide the patient with the best possible care.

As always, the MWM will address the latest developments in our profession, provide a platform for dialogue between attendees and presenters about issues facing our profession and serve as a perfect venue for viewing recent advancements in technology. On behalf of our members, associate members and staff, I invite you to join us in Chicago Feb. 26-March 1 for what will be another outstanding Midwinter Meeting.

As you review the many continuing education courses offered to you, I’m sure you will agree the Midwinter Meeting continues to be the respected leader in scientific meetings. The courses and exhibits of the 144th meeting are centered on helping the dental team meet the highest standards of oral healthcare.

An overwhelming majority of the Midwinter Meeting’s scientific programs are offered without charge. Noted speakers and leaders in the profession, from the United States and from around the world, are an essential part of the Midwinter Meeting. New this year, two courses will be offered in Spanish only.

The latest innovations in equipment and materials can be found in one location, the Midwinter Meeting Exhibit Hall. The companies, who exhibit at the meeting and advertise in CDS publications, are essential to the success of the Midwinter Meeting; their participation in the meeting also supports the efforts of CDS on your behalf. Please visit the Exhibit Floor and utilize the very best dental trade show to improve your practice. The Midwinter Meeting was named again by Tradeshow Week as one of the Top 200 trade shows in North America. Pre-registration offers numerous benefits, and it’s the means to ensure you can attend the courses and events you wish to attend. The Midwinter Meeting also includes a number of tours and special events. Please join us for the following special events.

  • The Opening Session Thursday evening is sure to be a hit when comedian Tom Dreesen will headline the session. Mr. Dreesen has made more than 500 appearances on television as a stand-up comedian, including numerous appearances on the Tonight Show.
  • Friday afternoon, ZZAZZ Productions will present Fashion Fusion, an entertaining presentation of fine fashion and accessories at the Fashion Show and Luncheon.
  • You don’t want to miss this year’s Friday Night Event. CSI: New York’s Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band are scheduled to perform in concert at the Park West. Mr. Sinise, actor and director, won an Emmy and Golden Globe award and was nominated for an Academy Award for his role as Lt. Dan Taylor in Forrest Gump.
  • Topping off the special events schedule is the President’s Dinner Dance at the Fairmont Hotel Saturday evening, featuring the sounds of The Steve Edwards Orchestra.

The officers, Board of Directors and the staff at CDS look forward to seeing you in February at the 144th Midwinter Meeting!
