Ian Elliott, DDS, a periodontist, was sworn in as president of the Chicago
Dental Society at a ceremony held on Sunday, November 14, at the Ritz-Carlton
The society, which was established in 1864, has more than 4,000
members in Cook, Lake and DuPage Counties, making it the largest local society
of the American Dental Association.
Dr. Elliot, who practices in
Naperville and Joliet, received his dental degree from Loyola University Dental
School and his certificate of periodontics from Northwestern University Dental
School, where he also served as an assistant clinical professor.
He is a
fellow of the American College of Dentists, International College of Dentists
and Odontographic Society of Chicago.
Dr. Elliott and his wife, Janet,
reside in Naperville. They have two children.
As president of CDS, Dr.
Elliott will oversee its annual meeting, the Midwinter Meeting, held at
McCormick Place on February 24-26, 2011. The meeting is one of the largest
exhibits of dental products in North America and ranks among Chicago's top 20
conventions. The meeting typically generates more than $42 million for the local
economy, according to the Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau.
A tradition of working for the dental profession. The Chicago Dental Society was organized in 1864 and incorporated in 1878. The objective of the Chicago Dental Society is to encourage the improvement of the health of the public, to promote the art and science of dentistry and to represent the intrest of the members of the profession and the public that it serves.
