John Fredricksen, DDS, a general dentist who practices in Oak Lawn, was installed as president-elect of the Chicago Dental Society on Thursday, November 9, in a ceremony held at the Peninsula Hotel.
As president of CDS, Dr. Fredricksen will oversee its annual meeting, the Midwinter Meeting, held at McCormick Place on February 22-25, 2007. The meeting is one of the largest exhibits of dental products in North America and ranks among Chicago's top 20 conventions. The meeting usually generates upwards of $45 million for the local economy, according to the Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau.
Dr. Fredricksen has selected The Spirit of Generosity...The Generosity of Spirit as the theme for this meeting.
The society, which was established in 1864, has more than 4,100 members in Cook, Lake and DuPage Counties, making it the largest local society of the American Dental Association.
Dr. Fredricksen received his dental degree from Loyola University School of Dentistry in 1982.
He resides in Lemont with his wife Trish and their two sons.
