We're not making these up!
Visiting your dentist for routine exams and cleanings, at least twice a year, is an important part of maintaining a healthy smile. So why would some people fail to make their dental dates?
The Chicago Dental Society queried more than 400 members to find out some outrageous reasons given to them by real patients for canceled appointments. Note to self: Don't try these reasons on your dentist.
10. I can't find my car.
9. I'm waiting for the freshly poured concrete on my driveway to dry.
8. Marshall Field's is having a final sale I can't miss.
7. I was at my bachelor party last night and have no idea where I am this morning.
6. I have an emergency fitting for my prom dress.
5. My parole officer went on vacation without authorizing me to leave the house.
4. I have tickets to the Cubs World Series game!
3. I would prefer to have my appointment on a full moon.
2. My dog is a feeling a little stressed out, so I'm taking him to get a pet massage.
And the number one funniest reason for a canceled dentist appointment?
My tooth hurts too much to come in.
