Robert Manasse, DDS, an orthodontist who practices in Matteson, was elected to the board of directors of the Chicago Dental Society. Dr. Mannasse was installed as a board member during a ceremony held on Thursday, November 17, in a ceremony held at Ritz Carlton in Chicago. He will serve a three-year term, to commence in January 2006.
The society, which was established in 1864, has more than 4,100 members in Cook, Lake and DuPage Counties, making it the largest local society of the American Dental Association. Dr. Manasse will represent the south suburban branch of the society.
Born in Amsterdam, Dr. Manasse immigrated to the United States in 1954 with his parents. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry.
Dr. Manasse opened his first orthodontic practice in McAllen, Texas in 1976. He taught at the University of Texas and the University of Oklahoma before moving to the Chicago area in 1992 and opening a practice in Matteson.
A dedicated runner, he has completed 14 marathons and four triathlons. He and his wife, Johanna, reside in Olympia Fields. They have four adult children, Kim, Janny, Robert and Michael, and two grandchildren, Kelly and Ryan.

The objective of the Chicago Dental Society is to encourage the improvement of the health of the public, to promote the art and science of dentistry and to represent the intrest of the members of the profession and the public that it serves.
