The Chicago Dental Society announced plans today to host Dental Technician Days during the 2005 Midwinter Meeting, held February 24-27 at Chicago's McCormick Place.
Dental Technician Days will feature a special exhibit area, separate from the main exhibit floor, where technicians can peruse products and services relevant to their field. More than 30 exhibitors are expected to participate.
“We are always striving for ways to make our Midwinter Meeting inclusive and relevant to the whole dental team,” 2005 CDS President Dr. Ronald Testa says. “This year we're expanding our efforts with Dental Technician Days. This program will be a valuable experience for the hundreds of laboratory technicians who attend our meeting each year.”
Dental Technician Days will be held on Friday and Saturday, February 25-26, 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. There is no charge to participate, although participants must be registered attendees of the Midwinter Meeting.
Laboratory technicians who register for the Midwinter Meeting will also be granted full access to the main exhibit floor and may attend free courses or courses cosponsored by the National Association of Dental Laboratories (NADL), space permitting. For those who register by December 31, the fee is $25.
Beginning with the 2004 Midwinter Meeting, CDS has partnered with the NADL to host scientific courses at the Midwinter Meeting of interest to all members of the dental team. That collaboration continues in 2005.
The Midwinter Meeting is among the top three dental meetings in the U.S. Last year's meeting drew 32,007 dental professionals, including 477 laboratory technicians.
