Services for past Chicago Dental Society President James H. Ridlen were held Tuesday, July 19. Dr. Ridlen, 85, died Friday, July 15.
Dr. Ridlen was president of CDS from 1981-82. Leading up to his presidential year, Dr. Ridlen held all elective offices in CDS and served as the director of the West Suburban Branch. He was chairman of the Ethics Committee and also the Mediation Committee.
Dr. Ridlen and his wife of 63 years, Dolores, raised their three children, James R. Ridlen, DDS, Cynthia Duffy, and the late Cheryl Ridlen-Paradowski, DDS, in Hinsdale. He maintained a private practice of general dentistry in Western Springs.
He is survived by his wife and two children, James R. (Audrey) Ridlen, DDS and Cynthia (Jay) Duffy, 13 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
