More than 400 medications can cause xerostomia (dry mouth), not to mention lifestyle factors, medical treatments or normal aging. Dental product companies seems to be catching on to the increasing numbers of patients suffering from this disorder.

Biotene, the makers of a suite of products for dry-mouth sufferers, has extensive patient information on their site, along with a "dry mouth score" quiz.

A new product unveiled at last year's Midwinter Meeting is OraMoist, by Quantum Health, a patch that adheres to the roof of the mouth and releases lipids, citrus flavors, and enzymes that lubricate the mouth and stimulate saliva production. It works for up to four hours and is sugar/alcohol free. OraMoist can be found in most drugstores.

Product didn't work more than a few minutes and for the next hour became a stringy mess that completely dissolved within an hour. Don't like it.
