Permanent link  Meeting and Tweeting: The View from The Spot

02/25/2010

We're pleased to report the first Midwinter Meeting meet-up/tweet-up, co-hosted with Dr. Bicuspid, was a great success. Hundreds of people met at The Spot in the back corner of the exhibit floor and used the social to catch up with old friends and meet new contacts they previously knew only through Twitter or Facebook.

We offered t-shirts to the first 100 attendees -- and they were gone in less than five minutes! The brownies were devoured soon after, prompting a second food order (note the empty tray in the photo).

We're OK admitting that the biggest hit was the trusty mascot, Flossie. We'll post (many) more photos of Flossie on the exhibit floor, charming everyone she met (was it the eyes? her prominent front teeth?).

Our photographer, John McNulty, had the difficult job of gathering people at 12:30 for the group shot. Look at all those smiles! At 1 p.m. sharp, we held a drawing for four $50 Nordstrom gift certificates -- congratulations to the winners below:

* Jan Brouwers, Heritage Family Dental (Grand Rapids, Mich.)
* Dr. Moody Wasif, Lambert Tribal Health Center (St. Ignace, Mich.)
* Dr. Grant Sims, Sims Dentistry (Chicago, Ill.)
* Michael A. Pflughoeft, Map Communications (Menomonee Falls, Wisc.)
