Founded in 1864, the Chicago Dental Society celebrates 150 years of serving the profession and the community in 2014 and 2015. Join the fun and make an impression at the Midwinter Meeting by sponsoring a limited edition 150th Anniversary Molar.
CDS will manufacture up to 12 undecorated giant molar displays. The sponsor may either decorate its own tooth or contract with our vendor to have it decorated.
To reserve your 150th Anniversary Molar, email CDS or call 312.836.7327. Download the reservation form to get started.
Each molar sits on a 10” tall base that is approximately 40” in diameter. The total height of the tooth including the base is approximately 48”.
Sponsors may use any materials that will adhere to the fiberglass tooth structure for decoration. However, the tooth structure may not be altered.
Decorations must be dignified and in good taste and may not disparage any competitors. Decorations are not acceptable if they are deemed offensive in text or artwork, or contain personal, racial or religious attacks. Alcoholic beverages and tobacco products are prohibited.
All molar displays must include the phrase “Chicago Dental Society: Keeping Chicago smiling for 150 years” somewhere on the base or tooth structure.
CDS will ship the Molars to McCormick Place West for the 149th and 150th Midwinter Meetings, as well as to Pioneer Plaza and the Shedd Aquarium for the 150th Anniversary party in 2014. When not on display, the molars will be kept in storage. After the 2015 Midwinter Meeting, the molars will be shipped back to their sponsors.
During the 2014 Midwinter Meeting, CDS will open voting to the public to determine which four 150th Anniversary Molars will be displayed in Pioneer Plaza in the summer.
