An event this big happens only once every 150 years!
From Feb. 26 – 28, the Chicago Dental Society’s sesquicentennial wraps up with a grand finale when the Midwinter Meeting celebrates its 150th birthday. On behalf of the CDS Board of Directors and dozens of member volunteers, I welcome you to join us for A Midwinter Celebration.
CDS is the respected leader in scientific dental meetings™ and that tradition of excellence will continue in 2015. General Chair Mark Humenik and Program Chair David Lewis Jr., shared my vision of a diverse program that offers choices for every member of the dental team. We’re proud to bring you a scientific program that was carefully crafted with expert guidance from Al Kleszynski, CDS Director of Scientific Programs. No matter what your preferred program format – live patient care presentation, hands-on workshop, or lecture – you’ll find something to fit your needs in the pages that follow.
Continue your educational experience by spending time in the Midwinter Meeting Exhibit Hall. There, you’ll find an often overlooked resource, more than 600 exhibitors who are committed to your professional success. Visit the show floor often to find out what’s new and to thank our exhibitors for the support that makes the Midwinter Meeting possible. And because it wouldn’t be a birthday party without cake – enjoy Midwinter Celebration cake pops, served on the exhibit floor each day between 1 and 3 p.m.
The traditional Fashion Show gets a contemporary twist this year with a focus on your style and personal brand. Fashion maven and Million Dollar Shopper Amy Salinger will bring her Sass N Style workshop to McCormick Place Friday. Men and women alike will learn how to “buy what you need, use what you have” as Ms. Salinger demonstrates her style tips with live models. Attendees will enjoy lunch before the presentation and take away personal style and shopping workbooks.
New dentists – Friday is YOUR special day. The New Dentist Track features four speakers whose presentations will address the unique concerns of our newest colleagues. The schedule will even allow you to enjoy the fashion workshop over the lunch break. Following the afternoon session, catch up with friends and classmates at the New Dentist reception.
Special events? A Midwinter Celebration has several that you won’t want to miss! Thursday’s Opening Session features Las Vegas headliners Mo5aic, a five-man A cappella ensemble that Tony Bennett has called “the best vocal group I’ve ever heard.” Get ready to party at Park West Friday night when Fifty Amp Fuse, the World’s Greatest Cover Band, rocks out six decades of American and British hits. A Midwinter Celebration concludes with Saturday night’s Dinner Dance in the Hyatt’s beautiful Crystal Ballroom. Make this year’s Celebration a memorable one by including our special events in your 2015 meeting experience. See the special events section for details on events.
In 150 years, the CDS Midwinter Meeting has evolved from modest roots – a one-day gathering of members at a local dental supply house – to a world-renowned scientific program and trade show that is second-to-none. See for yourself just how we’ve grown; bring your entire team or a few friends and share the excitement. Come to Chicago in 2015 and be part of A Midwinter Celebration!
