On behalf of the Board of Directors, staff and general membership, I am extending you an invitation to attend the 151st Midwinter Meeting of the Chicago Dental Society, an international leader in scientific meetings.
Come to iMeeting to increase your awareness of the latest advances in the wonderful world of dentistry in an atmosphere blending high tech, entertainment and camaraderie. Your iMeeting will set new standards and raise the bar for other meetings in the country to follow. Be the first to experience how dental meetings will be presented in the future.
Jun Lim, General Chair; Melanie Watson, Program Chair; and Ted Borris, Director of Scientific Programs; have put together a scientific program that will appeal to every dental team member. Besides some of the finest speakers on this planet, we have added programs in French, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish that will be translated into English. Come and see how dentists are practicing in other countries and expand your knowledge. There will be more than 138 speakers with more than 233 courses, which includes 32 participation courses. Once again, more than 50 percent of our courses will be complimentary.
This year, as always, a must-see highlight will be our vast McCormick Place Exhibit Hall. You can see in person, all in one setting, what’s offered by more than 600 exhibitors on 460,000 square feet of floor space. They will display the latest products and technology to help you improve every aspect of your practice. Unlike the Internet, the Exhibit Hall allows you actually to see the latest products and in many cases try them out.
You’ll also experience some “firsts” we’ve added to make your Exhibit Hall experience more fun. We’ll have prize giveaways and live entertainment on the exhibit floor. Once again, CDS members who preregister will receive a rebate coupon to make a purchase on the floor. You will receive some of the best deals when buying from our exhibitors on the floor during the meeting. You can also earn an hour of continuing education by visiting the exhibit floor, because we know you will bring back knowledge from the Exhibit Hall that you can use in your practice.
After a busy day hearing lectures and visiting the Exhibit Hall, it doesn’t end. Please join us by attending the Opening Session, Thursday, Feb. 25 at 5:30 p.m. in the McCormick Place West Ballroom, W375E. There you will be wowed by Navi, the number one Michael Jackson impersonator, all the way from the United Kingdom, who will perform King of Pop – the Legend Continues. Stay after the performance and enjoy refreshments and camaraderie with old and new friends.
On Friday, Feb. 26, there are several events planned besides lectures and Exhibit Hall happenings. Come and enjoy an exciting world of fashion as ZZAZZ Productions and our fashion committee present Eye On Fashion. Reception and fellowship begin at 11:30 a.m. followed by a spectacular luncheon and show. New dentists are invited to register for the New Dentist Reception to be held 5 – 6:30 p.m. in the 270 Restaurant, Level 2. Hygienists are invited to register for the new Hygienists Reception from 5 – 6:30 p.m. in the Hyatt McCormick DuSable Room (CC20). Friday night, dance to disco at the Park West with the back-by-popular demand group Stayin Alive – One Night of the Bee Gees – the number one tribute band to the Bee Gees.
Saturday, Feb. 27, the fantastic lectures and exhibits continue. Another new experience will be the Faculty Showcases presented by University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry, Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine and Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine. Faculty members from each school will present a very enlightening and fantastic mini-series. Please check it out. It will be amazing.
Conclude your iMeeting experience by attending the President’s Dinner Dance at the Regency Ballroom of the Hyatt Regency Chicago, Saturday evening. The reception is at 7 p.m. and dinner seating is at 7:30 p.m. The fantastic Don Cagen Orchestra will wow you. We have a special evening planned. So don’t miss a memorable evening with your family and friends.
My wife, Maria, I and the entire CDS family hope that you will accept our invitation for the three best days of this coming winter by joining us for the best education, entertainment and camaraderie possible at any dental conference. See you there!
