On behalf of the Board of Directors, staff, and general membership, I am extending an invitation to attend the 149th Midwinter Meeting of the Chicago Dental Society, an International leader in scientific meetings.
Come travel across “The Bridge” to expand your past education and training to take you into the future of dentistry. This meetings intent is to provide every member of the dental team an opportunity to expand their knowledge of the art and practice of dentistry.
Drs. James Frett, General Chair, Robert Manasse, Program Chair, and Al Kleszynski, Director of Scientific Programs, have arranged a scientific program which should appeal to every dental team member. There will be more then 130 speakers, with more than 225 courses, which include 35 participation courses. True to our tradition, more than 50 percent of the courses will be complimentary.
I hope everyone will take a break from the scientific aspect of the meeting and visit the Exhibit Hall. This year we are proud to say that we have more than 600 exhibitors who will display and offer the latest products and services. In the Exhibit Hall you will be able to see, and when possible, sample the latest products and innovations to improve your dental practice. Another exciting feature, of this meeting, is the live television demonstration of clinical procedures which offers CE credit. The location has been changed to make it more easily accessible. Once again, you will be able to redeem your rebate coupon when you make a purchase on the exhibit floor. As in previous years, you will receive an hour of continuing education each day that you visit the exhibition floor.
After a busy day of lectures and perusing the exhibits please join us by attending the Opening Session, Thursday, Feb. 20 at 5:30 p.m. in the McCormick Place West Ballroom, 375E, where you will be entertained by The Roots of Rock & Roll Show, featuring cast members of The Million Dollar Quartet: Killer, Cash and the King. Following the performance stay and enjoy Chicago Style refreshments, drinks, and fellowship with old or new acquaintances.
On Friday, Feb. 21, there are several events planned. Come experience the exciting world of fashion as ZZAZZ Productions and our fashion show committee present Passage to Elegance for your enjoyment. Cash bar reception and fellowship begin at 11:30 a.m. followed by a spectacular luncheon and show. New Dentists are invited to register for a reception at the 270 Restaurant on Level 2 from 5 – 6:30 p.m. The CDS Foundation has planned a concert featuring “Heart & Soul of Chicago” with 25 or 6 to 4 – The Chicago Experience with special guests Danny Seraphine, Bill Champlin and Dennis Tufano at Park West for your enjoyment. Come enjoy the laid back fun and support this charitable event.
Conclude your experience in Chicago by attending the President’s Dinner Dance at the Grand Ballroom of the Hilton and Towers. The High Society Orchestra will have you tapping your toes or dancing the night away.
Lastly, my wife, Kathy and I and the entire CDS family hope that you will accept our invitation to experience a productive and enjoyable time in your journey across “The Bridge” into the future of dentistry.
