The American Academy of Physiological Medicine and Dentistry (AAPMD) hosts “The Silent Airway Connection,” a conference focusing on a multidisciplinary approach for diagnosing and treating sleep and breathing disorders, which may contribute to a range of serious physiological, cognitive, behavioral and performance conditions in children and adults. AAPMD is bringing together more than 20 leading medical, dental and research experts to report on upper airway obstruction and resulting sleep disordered breathing as a factor in heart disease, hypertension, stroke and diabetes in adults; childhood development; and workplace, academic and sports performance. The goal of AAPMD is to further the understanding of the condition and health problems related to sleep disordered breathing so that individuals can get proper diagnosis and treatment.
Continuing education units are available for dentists, dental hygienists, physical therapists and professionals in speech-language pathology and audiology.
Additional information as well as conference registration is available online at: www.aapmd.org.
